Syrup, pill, syringe: the right label for any moment of therapy.

The labels for the pharma industry must present excellent flexibility, to be also put on syringes and very small vials. They must also comply with the technical specifications for critical applications such as low temperatures for sterilization processes. We identify the most suitable material for each application surface, glass or plastic (even siliconized). We protect the product from any risk of contamination using ISEGA certified adhesives and low migration inks.

Procedures
Plant and lines for labels for the pharmaceutical industry comply with anti-mix-up flows. Outside the printing area, we also perform special datamatrix to verify the printing congruity with the master artwork. After the diffusion of optical readers we promote the reading of such codes, for a better control of traceability and to reduce manual operations.

Control
We manage the pre-print with ESKO software, for the automated production of printing plants. With BST Shark Lex 4000 inline inspection systems, we guarantee a 100% check of the print on 100% of all the line processes.
During the printing process, we analyze on all lots, in real time, the main flaws such as registry errors, dirt, scratches, incomplete or missing text. Furthermore, the operators verify the correct identification of the processed code with a special PDF Comparison software.
During the packaging process, control tables with bidirectional logic always ensure the double check of the printed. In case of corrections manually made by the operator, the line automatically manages the bobbin rewind for a further control by the machine management software.

Multipage and peel-off

We understand the need to increase the shelf appeal of OTC products, multiplying the printable surface. We provide every type of finish, even with braille, for peel-off and multipage labels (up to 10 sides).

Cryogenic applications

We ensure high performance even at very low temperatures with innovative and durable adhesives, even in conditions of under 196° cooling, for labels that are also resistant to special chemical products and sterilizations processes in autoclave.

Hang Labels

Dedicated lines for special couplings and technical know-how for hanger labels (including multi-page) that guarantee to hold container from 10 to 1000 ml.

Blood Bags

With special inks and suitable materials, we print labels that resist to: • Sterilization at 121° C for 45 minutes • Centrifuge • Freezing at -80ºC for 24h • Defrost in water at about 60º

Injectable labels

We label vials, syringes, and ampoules up to 10-50 mm diameters. We also do silkscreen printing for maximum readability on clear-on-clear supports. During packaging, we intercept the absence of labels with special photocells to ensure high-speed applications.

We design glued cases for every pharmaceutical form, also by selecting materials from FSC and PEFC controlled supply chains, to ensure maximum efficiency on the lines and the product protection. With dedicated CAD software we provide special design, also with integrated solutions, for the automatic packaging of blister, vials, bottles and sachets. Tamper evident closures and prints with special finishes combine the need for protection of the drug with maximum shelf appeal.

Procedures
Inline and outline inspection systems and outline are added to a well-established culture of respect for the line clearance, in accordance with the applicable GMP in every phase of production, in order to avoid any mix-up of products on production lines.

Control
Pre-print managed with Esko software together with the in-line dense-spectrophotometric control with Color Assistant Pro Heildeberg ensure the repeatability of the printed for each lot. Electronic controls with Power Register system of Bobst ensure precision die-cut.

Safety
An integrated and automated “Xtend” Baumer HHS system, installed on all the gluing lines, reads every barcode, monitors the glue, the registering and the expulsion of defective products. According to a principle of “inverse logic”, the packaging is considered “non-compliant by default” and, only in case of a positive result of the preset checks, advances on the line for a final validation. Therefore, the code readers control all the products “one by one” and compare the features with those planned, uniquely identifying the packaging to prevent possible confusion between different product lines.

Linear cases

We print every type of linear case, with conventional and UV technology. We automatically guarantee the maximum line speed, in accordance with the best performance during the final packaging.

Fly Pack®

With an outer flap (detachable for additional information related to medical prescriptions), we produce special perforations to facilitate the removal of the card without compromising the integrity of the medical product.

Easy Pack

We produce cases with special hives for multipack solutions. Housing that are also suitable for very small vials provide protection and simplified extraction of the product, even for clinical tests.

Daily Pack

products based on creative solutions which combine the technologies and the know-how of our different divisions. We automatically apply every type of label, with special designs that promote the drug consumption.

Shell Pack®

With a special internal pocket, we favor an easy automated housing of the leaflet. Furthermore, an agile hole permits to the patient to take an alert card.

Reliable, safe, flexible

Oral solutions, capsules, pills and granular compounds represent the most common pharmaceutical forms for which we need a primary packaging which does not risk to contaminate the product, while ensuring the efficiency of the lines. We print monolayer, coupled and aluminum films from 20 to 250 microns, with roto/flexo technology for small and big lots. Multiple drying options, for UV and water-based inks for solutions (also solventless), broaden the available printing finishes specific for each application.

Procedures
Specific internal protocols and analysis laboratories guide our technicians for the identification of the most suitable material for each application, seeking the most suitable barrier solutions to light, oxygen and any type of perfume. A new clean room - Class 100,000 - will be dedicated to the production of primary packaging.

Control
We have the latest technology to verify the absence of folds (dead fold effect) with the material tensioning systems during the conversion phase. Cooling equipment on the lines also ensure the accuracy of the register, also on the side bands for the reduction of production waste. While in-line inspection systems (Shark Lex 4000) guarantee the printed check in accordance with the master artwork.

Safety
To increase the complexity of the print is a barrier to the spread of counterfeiting. We have multiple printing units (up to 10, even reverse printing) with combined printing technologies for special finishes. We can print reliefs, holograms and Ir/taggant special inks. We offer customization of materials, even with the application of tamper evident solutions and securities labels, 3D films and void labels.

We print on full-body thermo-shrink films to enhance the appeal of the most irregular bottles, and of tamper evident seals with vertical and horizontal perforation. With 3D software, we support our customers right from the stage of pack prototyping to ensure the optimal application during retraction.

Sachets

Designed specifically for promotional use or sampling, the sachets have seen a rapid growth in the market. We print several coupled (types paper+aluminium, PET+aluminium; paper+PET+aluminium), ensuring the choice of the most suitable film for each application. Maximum reliability for the protection of the product is coupled with a wide range of seals for maximum integrity of the product.

The development of single-dose solutions and the growing attention to the on-the-go consumptions have ratified the success of this product that promotes portability of liquid, granular and gelatinous medical forms without sacrificing the barrier properties. With 40% less material used, this is also a sustainable solution.

The need to encourage the ingestion of the prescribed dose is combined with a flexible and highly versatile product. Combining excellent barrier properties with good mechanical properties, we print with excellent results a wide range of custom coupled solutions.

Aluminum blister

We print lacquered aluminum in bobbins with heat-sealable for PVC / PVdC, PET, PP, neutral and/or printed for the primary packaging of pharmaceutical blister packs. Thicknesses 20, 25, 30 micron. A variety of formats for 10 pills or 50 gelatin capsules is available, for small and large batches. We guarantee the printed technical analysis through automated inline inspection systems and chemical analysis through certified laboratories.
